Swimming

Postby Meows-A-Lot » Wed Jul 28, 2010 6:12 pm

I'm going swimming with some male friends at the weekend. I've only just come to terms with who I am, and I'd always planned on letting them know quite soon after. But if I tell them I'm gay before swimming, I'm afraid they won't go just becuase I might turn on them. Do you think it should wait until after or not... :S

Depends. Are they the kind of people that would think all you'd do is stare at them in the changing rooms or something?

If it makes you feel more comfortable, I'd do it after just for your own peace of mind. However, if they're good friends then it likely won't bother them as its still an activity that you can do together. At the end of the day, many straight guys swim with girls no problem and vice versa.

Sure they will be okay with it :) And if they are real friends, they will support you whenever you tell them :)

Thanks you two. I'll tell them just afterwards, just to keep my mind at rest. :)

Don't do it unless they're mature... My friends won't come for a sleep over with me cause they think I'll "Try something"

Miles that's awful, why would they think something like that

It's really bad they think that way, that's one of the reasons i haven't come out to my friends yet, because im sure they'll have the same thoughts about me if we do something together.

I'm not trying to claim that this makes it any easier for you but your friends are still young and quite likely to grow out of this stupidity. It's amazing how much people grow up in the space of a few years, in my experience.
